Enrollment in Christian K-12 institutions with strong conservative principles is on the rise, according to government data. The influx is motivated in part by parents’ frustration with pandemic safety regulations at public schools and their beliefs regarding the teaching of sociopolitical issues. Evangelical schools that take strong stances against the teaching of racial justice and similar topics have especially grown in popularity, leading some critics to say the current trend mimics the surge in Southern private school enrollment that occurred after public institutions were desegregated in the 1960s. Read more
