Lawmakers Seek Investigation into Effects of School Closures on Students with Disabilities

Four Republicans in the House of Representatives wrote a letter Monday stating they would like to see a bipartisan investigation into how students with disabilities have been affected by school closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the letter, the lawmakers said they are concerned about students with special needs not being able to access services and the possible impact that has had on their mental health. The proposed investigation would also look into whether state and local governments have complied with federal special education law. Read more
