Lawrence Alexander serves as Director of College Counseling and Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the White Mountain School in New Hampshire in addition to his work with the Search and Consulting Group at Carney Sandoe & Associates, Lawrence is an invaluable resource to CS&A’s diversity recruitment efforts and our FORUM/Diversity event.
Lawrence has been at the White Mountain School since 2016. Prior to White Mountain School, Lawrence served in the capacity of counselor or advisor at a variety of institutions and organizations. He was one of two Co-Directors of College Counseling at Ross School in East Hampton, NY, where 75% of the students enrolled are international boarding students. He has served as a university advisor at Span One, a site that provides 1-on-1 online and in-person college guidance for high school students seeking selective university admission domestically and abroad. At The Ivy Key, he was the Director of College Admissions and offered group college admissions courses to schools, private counseling to individual clients, and financial aid application support to both. He also served as Director of College Counseling at CollegeBound Initiative, a program for students in Title 1 schools, and at The Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria.
He also currently serves as Director, College Admissions Program, at Summerfuel, which offers summer pre-college experiences for students, as well as at The Ivy Key, where he is the Director of College Admissions, offering group college admissions courses to schools, private counseling to individual clients, and financial aid application support to both.
Lawrence attended Montclair State University where he earned a Master of Arts Counseling in Higher Education and Kean University. He has presented at our own FORUM/Diversity, the New England Association of College Admissions Counseling Summer Institute, and the New York State Association for College Admissions Counselors Annual Conference. He joined CS&A in 2018.
